Hello. I got a problem with my e36 ( no power till 4k rpms and fuel consumption is over 22l/100km). I wanted to check for errors but none of 7 mechanics cant connect with my DME. I found some information that M50b25 from 91' that i have can be connected only by DIS interface (all of them tried to connect with INPA).
Does any of you have a DIS interface ? Or maybe do you know any mechanic with the interface like this ? Im living in Rotterdam but i can travel further.
Does any of you have a DIS Interface ?
Re: Does any of you have a DIS Interface ?
No power till 4k RPM sounds like a broken MAF sensor to me, have you tried to disconnect it and then drive, to see if it made any difference?
Did you check for vacuum leaks? mainly the rubber boot between the MAF and throttle body.

Re: Does any of you have a DIS Interface ?
MAF is fine, when i disconnect it the revs are changing for a while and when i ride without MAF a car is even worse.
It cant be vacuum leaks because one day i disconnected the battery for 30 minutes and after it the car was like new.. The fuel consumption was 12l on city and finally it was 2.5, but after 150km the problem come back.
I've checked the resistance for camshaft and engine temp sensor and It's ok.

Hmm that's pretty weird, unfortunatly I don't have DIS to check it.
All I could think of is that it indeed is some sort of sensor failure, maybe an o2-sensor or something. how's the cranksensor? not sure if those can give any problems like yours.

Re: Does any of you have a DIS Interface ?
My first thought was O2 sensor. I replaced it with a brand new Bosch by oems. When i unplug the crank sensor i cant start the car. Today i'm going to some scraps in Rotterdam and will be looking for any bmw with m50 to replace the camshaft, maf or even the DME. Hope they got any..
