Re: 318i E46 Touring ///M - Band3ras
oh that's what it means. No, I'm looking for staggered only: 8" wide in the front and minimum 8,5" in the rear, but preferably 9".
I´d love to go for 19" wheels but I´m afraid even though the roads are quite nice in NL, I'd lose a great amount of comfort. And besides, I don´t have a 23i or a 30i per say... my 18i is already "slow" enough :p

Re: 318i E46 Touring ///M - Band3ras
Then don't go for the Velocity Motoring ones, those are 8,5 and 9,5... But imho they do look the best of all replica's I've seen...
Re: 318i E46 Touring ///M - Band3ras
well, if it´s 18x8.5 + 18x9.5. then its still ok, as long as the wheels fits in.
VMR wheels are the best CSL ´replicas´ I've seen, and their quality stands up to their price also.

Re: 318i E46 Touring ///M - Band3ras
That's the question... It's a perfect fit on a coupe, on a sedan or touring however it isn't, I had to roll my rear fenders to make my 19x9,5 fit, however my car is a bit lower than mostBand3ras schreef:well, if it´s 18x8.5 + 18x9.5. then its still ok, as long as the wheels fits in.

I know that with 19" you do have to roll the rear fenders, but with 18 that is not necessary, it fits in well.Griffendahl schreef:That's the question... it all depends on the offset also..
Re: 318i E46 Touring ///M - Band3ras
You seem to know... But both are 9.5J, ET45 and a 255 won't fit your touring for sure without rubbing... It's simple math
I know a few who tried and they all had trouble with rubbing. I did quite some research on the VB3 fitment before I bought my own set.
19" and 18" is not so much of a difference when it comes to fenderclearance unfortunately... I might work with 9,5J and a 235 tire, but it won't look so good![smile ;)](./images/smilies/wink.gif)

These are original VMR Wheels. The owner said he bought himself from the US, paid 1200$. The sizes are:
18' 8.5 et40 front
18' 9.5 et45 rear
no adaption/fender clearing is needed. Here they are:

Looks like it'll rub when loaded though... Looks awesome though if you can pull it off![Idee :!](./images/smilies/idea.gif)

I dont know, but I will ask him.
Bear in mind I dont have lowered suspensions, only the M suspensions which are a bit lower than the normal ones.![smile :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)

Re: 318i E46 Touring ///M - Band3ras
Imho, good tire fitment is where you'll never rub no matter how lowered your car is. Fact is that it isn't like that it's a garanteed rub in loaded or extreme situations...
I'm running the 19x9.5 in the rear with a 255 tire and rolled my fenders. But there's not even the slightest rubbing whatsoever and I think that's how it should be.

Re: 318i E46 Touring ///M - Band3ras
I agree, no rubbing of the tyre should occur.Griffendahl schreef:Imho, good tire fitment is where you'll never rub no matter how lowered your car is. Fact is that it isn't like that it's a garanteed rub in loaded or extreme situations...

I just received his answer:
"(...) either the car is fully loaded or empty, or even when going through bumps on the road, the tyres don't touch the fenders, and it was not needed to cut/clear absolutely nothing. The tyres sizes are the original OEM size (for an 18 wheel), 255 in the rear, and 225 in the front. (...)"
I guess Im lucky

As I said, I never heard/read of any fender problems with 18" wheels. I know that for 19" you do need to cut the bender a little, but that also depends on the offset of the rimm, assuming you're using a 255 wide tire. in some cases the 19"x 255 tyre will fit, if the offset allows it.
