Thanks! the glare is ok, I have no reflection showing up in the screen, but I also have a black roof, so it does help.

I installed the unit + DVB-t box + 2 DVB-t tv antennas + TMC antenna + Internet 3g.. it was quite a hell of a job, particullary if you don't know the car. So it took me the whole Saturday (the whole day!). but it didnt break anything, and everything was back in 1 piece ;)

First impressions:
-Radio is working ok, including RDS
-iPod and Steering Wheel Controls works fine (using iPhone 3G)
-DVD & audio CD is ok
-didnt test the USB (but it should be fine)
-Bluetooth calls are fine - Im using iPhone 3G and to pair it with the unit I only had to turn on bluetooth in the phone- it made the connection immediately. I am able to see the last made calls, received calls and missed calls, but Im not able to access my phonebook list: I read in the Dynavin forum that this is normal.
-GPS is working great: But Im using Igo 8 and I must say Im used to the simpleness of TomTom, so I think Im going to try other GPS application or explore the IGO a bit more. but its working well.
-3G Internet connection is working well: Im using the Dynavinshell that has the Internet apps (Navi, Office, IE or Opera). now I can access webradios :D

Whats not working so well:
-DVB-t: I had the Dynavin startup screen (so the old firmware). Before I updated the firmware, when I first turned on the unit, I setup the DVB-t, I found some dutch TV Channels, but the reception was very bad and was not able to see any image, the message was: "POOR / BAD signal" - by the way: I chose country: "EUROPE"'.
Then I followed the instructions accurately, in order to update the box +radio unit firmwares: 1st I updated the DVB-t box, after that I updated the main unit (2 step/files).
After the firmware updates (DVB-t box and main unit) then the problem started:
1-everytime I start the radio unit and go to DVB-t, it always does the inittial setup screen, where you chose country, timezone, lcn on/off, language, etc
2-I can't find any TV channels anymore (where before the firmware updates I was)

here's a picture of the antennas I received:

I placed the TV antennas above the windscreen, under the black roof cover (passenger+driver seats). Do I need to power the antennas? or just connect them to the DVB-Box is enough? I didnt connect the red/black cables. And if power is needed, where do I connect them, does anyone know a good power source nearby/behind the glovebox?

Update: after searching a lot, I found out that the problem is related to the antenas. I talked to another v5 owner, who did the same firmware updates (radio unit+dvb t box) that I did, but he has two 5v Antennas(no extra power needed), and much slimer and good looking than the ones I received, which are 12v dependent, so extra power is needed.

I will try with these 5v antenas and see what happens..

Ben beniewd of die van jou dat ook heeft.

Hi AlpinaDrachten, my dutch isn't so good yet.

I translated what you wrote, you said your v4 has translucent buttons and what to know if the v5 also has it?
Do you mean the User Interface (menus)? The menus look like this:

or the exterior buttons? they look like this:

sorry if I didn't understand your question correctly..

Hi Band3ras,

It doesn`t matter, was talking about was this. It looks like it was on the Dynavin message board where I saw it mentioned. Apparently some of the buttons were bleeding orange light through the black.

I also read on e46 fanatics that the button lighting issue was fixed awhile back...

Dynavin is working just great, the TV issue is related the antennas, but I'm changing them soon and hopefully everything will work out well.

Ill post some pics later today ;)

Hi Band3ras,

Beautiful Touring! I'm hoping to also install a Dynavin soon. It doesn't seem that difficult, isn't it?
I love your headlights. Do you have a link where you've bought them?
I can only find 8000K lights, but I like the yellowish OEM look from yours a lot better.

Installing the Dynavin isn't difficult (its plug&play) but it takes a few hours to do it properly (lots of cables, not a lot of space, specially if you buy the DVB-t box).

the headlights are 4300k 35w, bought them on ebay (uk). search for xenon 4300k 35w and you'll find a few :duim:

well I already have it on for a while, but had no time to post the photos -_-
but its a good radio, you can do a lot of stuff with it.

Those are the lightbulbs only I guess? You didnt't replace the complete units? The Angel Eyes are also 4300K?
My car has halogen light, so converting to Xenon will involve complete units with projector lenses.

No, I also had the original halogen headlights with no lens on the headlight(like yours)

But I bought the DEPO headlights with halogen angel eyes and also a xenon kit(ballasts+xenon lamps).

DEPO headlights:

Xenon:

Check the 1st post of this topic, you'll find photos of mine during the installation :duim:
